Call your local utility companies to have your services transferred and/or shut off. Include services such as telephone, cable and trash collection.
Notify the post office of your new address and arrange to have your mail forwarded.
Be sure to have your family's medical and dental records transferred to your new doctors. Also inform the pharmacy for a transfer of prescriptions.
Have the school records of your children transferred to their new schools. Also, arrange for transfer of your bank accounts and safety deposits contents to a bank branch in your new area.
Contact your mover beforehand and get a list of all the services your move will require. Include any packing or special services. Always voice any questions or concerns you may have.
